The dynamic and talented music maker Devisri Prasad has always been the most sought after when it comes to composing tunes and songs. He has come up with some of the best hits in the Telugu circuit and later he also made his presence felt strongly in Kollywood too.

However, there is news that Devisri will also be seen making his foray as an actor and this would be happening for the film ‘Sayyata’.

Ashutosh's Rs600 crore Buddha!

It seems that Ashutosh Gowariker is getting bigger day by day. If the buzz in the industry is to be believed, he might make one of the most expensive films ever.

Industrialist BK Modi has been planning a mega-budget international film on Buddha for quite some time. It's been his most ambitious project and he's been in talks with big names like Deepak Chopra and the Dalai Lama to translate it on screen. For the director's chair, Shekhar Kapur's name had come up but things didn't work out. Now, he is reviving the project once again and this time he is in talks with Ashutosh Gowariker.

Says a source, "After watching Ashutosh's past three films like Lagaan, Swades and Jodha Akbar, he was very impressed with him, especially the way he handles period dramas. Since the film is a mega-budget one, Ashutosh would be an apt choice considering his mastery over big budget films. If the deal works out, it would be a great accomplishment for Ashutosh for the simple fact that it's a huge international project in terms of its budget, subject and exposure. It would simply be one of the most expensive films too, exceeding Rs 600 crore easily."

The project is supposed to be based on the book Old Path White Clouds by the renowned Vietnamese Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh. Translated into more than twenty languages and drawn from various sources, the book traces the life of Gautam Buddha, gently seen through the eyes of Svasti, the buffalo boy who provided kusha grass for the Buddha's enlightenment cushion, and through the eyes of Buddha himself.

Further to several text messages to Ashutosh, he remained unavailable for comment.

IPL fever catches up with Big B

The IPL fever has not spared even megastar Amitabh Bachchan and he doesn't miss watching matches especially when his favourite team - Mumbai Indians is playing.

However, the actor is upset over the two successive defeats of Mumbai Indians and expressed his frustration to "EF" (Extended Family) as he refers to his readers on his blog.

"Doing nothing and sitting in front of the 'box' an entire day is a feat by itself and I just did it. Albeit a little frustrating because the home team lost in the final moments," Bachchan wrote after Mumbai Indians was defeated by Kings XI Punjab in a close match last week.

Sunday's loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore made Big B just say, "The Mumbai Indians lost!! AAArrrgraahhhhh".

Bachchan has just returned after a overseas schedule of his home production "Paa" and is presently recording a song for Ram Gopal Verma's "Rann".

Ever since his return, Bachchan has been glued to television watching the IPL.

During a media interaction to announce the 10th IIFA's venue last week, Bachchan asked the organisers to switch on the television in the hotel room, so that he could catch up with the ongoing match.

Bachchan said IPL was very popular abroad and people in Paris were also watching the cricketing event on television.

When he was asked about his favourite team in the IPL by journalists, the legendary actor refused to comment.

However, on his blog, subsequently, Bachchan has made his choice clear.

Bachchan, who is also a Chelsea fan, said football and cricket were great games of skill and they require television audience concentration.

Speaking for all the couch potatoes, Bachchan said, "we believe transformation of energydoes indeed scientifically take place when we shout, Go Chelsea or Mumbai Indians!!"

According to the Big B, "a loss is more clinical. We like to go to bed immediately and most certainly do wish to be disturbed."

He wondered what he would do when the "great patronage of IPL" ends later this month.

"I need to develop some skills. Play an instrument, learn a language. Have been saying this for years. But, never getting serious enough to actually doing it," he said.

According to TMZ, Hasselhoff's rep, Judy Katz, said the star was "fine and well and happy and is celebrating his father Joe Hasselhoff's 80th birthday tonight at dinner ... along with his girlfriend, Kimberly."
