Britney Spears has kept a rather nail-biting resolution for the New Year-the popstar wants to quit chewing her fingernails in 2009!
The 'Womanizer' singer wants to take better care of her hands starting New Year - because she longs for manicured and attractive hands.
And thus she is determined to quite her dirty habit as well as get rid of the reason behind it-not to worry anymore, reports.
"Next year, I have to learn to stop biting my nails! I would like to stop worrying so much, because I worry all the time. And to learn how to be happier, just in general. I have to learn to take things not so seriously," she said.
However, the pop superstar is not sure if she'd be able to stick to her promise, as she doesn't have a good history of keeping her resolutions.
"I end up breaking them. It's hard," she added.

Pussycat Dolls keen to work with Britney Spears
Pop band Pussycat Dolls are desperate to work with Britney Spears, after the star’s cameo in one of their videos was cut out.
The ‘Button’ hitmakers were left thwarted when Britney’s appearance for their ‘When I Grow Up’ promo was axed by the music bosses.
However, the Pussycat Dolls are still hopeful of collaborating with the ‘Hit Me baby One More Time’ hitmaker, as they have been signed to open up in her upcoming world tour.
"She's such a legend... She's making her way. And she's the Queen of Pop, along with Madonna, and we want to follow into those footsteps. So, we're excited,” Contactmusic quoted Melody Thornton, as telling MTV.com.
"Most definitely. We love Britney. She's a friend of ours, and she's a really cool girl. She's down to earth, so we support her,” Nicole Scherzinger said when asked about the probability of working with Britney.

Britney Spears' 'vulgar' song angers parents
A song from pop star Britney Spears' new album "Circus" has upset parents in Australia as they feel it encourages children to use vulgar language.
According to contactmusic.com, the song "If You Seek Amy" seems harmless on the surface, but some mothers were angry when they heard their children singing the lines. They claim the lyrics spell out "F*** me" and that Spears is courting controversy.
Leonie Barsenbach, a concerned mother, said: "I was astonished and totally taken aback when I heard my five and seven-year-old kids walking around the house singing 'F***'. When I asked them what it was, they told me it was Britney Spears. I was horrified. I got them the 'Circus' album because little kids are Britney fans, but there was no warning on the album...
"Listening to it, it is extremely blatant and offensive. I feel I have been deceived into believing that this was acceptable content for children but instead it is objectionable."

Britney Spears wants to get married and have kids
Pop singer Britney Spears, who made a remarkable comeback recently after her infamous breakdown, has vowed to get married again and have more children.
"I want to get married, have more babies and live on a desert island," Britney revealed in a new documentary. A tearful Britney admitted that she still felt "sad" and "lonely" despite slowly getting back to a normal life.
The singer, who lost custody of her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James earlier this year, said her idea of heaven is moving to a remote island with her boys and her dream man, Daily Mail reported.
"That would be heaven for me, to have my kids on an island and a man and no-one could get to us. That's my thing. When I really love somebody I really love somebody. I give my all. I can't get enough. I need to be around them all the time. It's just the best feeling in the world when they give me that feeling," the pop princess said.
The singer poured out her heart in eagerly-awaited MTV documentary "Britney: For The Record".
In a scene filmed as she was making her video for comeback single 'Womanizer', Britney told friends, "I'm going to write the man of my dreams on my arm.
"I'm going to get married next year and have babies. Watch!"
The singer also joked about writing a tell-all autobiography, saying, "I will have a good book one day, a good mysterious book." She broke down several times during the documentary. "When I tell people the way I feel they hear me, but they're really not listening. They hear what they want to hear. They don't really listen to what I'm telling them," the singer said.
She started to sob as she added, "It's bad. I'm sad."
The singer also moaned the fact that she no longer felt "cool" about herself.
"I used to be a cool chick and I feel like the paparazzi has taken my whole cool slang away from me...The way I used to live, I was a pretty cool chick, and I'm not really that
anymore."
"You can't really go there in a complete state of happiness because you're scared it's going to be taken away. So it's better just not to feel anything at all and to have hope to feel the other way," she said recalling her troubled life.
But Britney insisted that she had no regrets and avoided "threatening situations", saying, "I go through life like a Karate Kid." Talking about her increasingly erratic behaviour
following her split from husband Kevin Federline, Britney admitted, "People started thinking I was on drugs."
She, however, defended her infamous head-shaving incident, saying, it was "...a little bit of rebellion or feeling free".
"People thought it was me going crazy and stuff, but people shave their heads all the time." Britney is determined to get back to a normal life, "Everything is coming together right now. I'm ready to make this a really good phase in my life."
"I choose to be a happy person. I choose not to be a bitter person," she said, adding, "everything happens for a reason."
"I just have to look back and say it is what it is and learn from my mistakes and just listen to my instincts more," Britney said. The pop diva also denied being a "victim of success."
"I hate that because I like to see people making the most of their situation and being positive."

Britney Spears storms the X Factor... but was she miming?
After four years absence from British television screens Britney Spears made a storming comeback on the X factor last night.
But those fans able to look past the skimpy PVC hotpants and fishnet stockings were left wondering whether the long-awaited performance was all that it seemed.
Indeed some fans were quickly debating on internet forums whether Britney had been miming the words to her new single Womanizer. The pop princess' energetic dance routine did not seem to interrupt her vocals - which seemed near perfect.
This was despite apparent problems with her microphone, which she touched several times during the three-minute performance.
A spokeswoman for the X Factor production company insisted Britney had been singing, telling MailOnline: 'There were some live vocals, but that's a question for the record company.
But for those who have watched Britney go through a much-publicised breakdown, then make an astonishing return to form, perhaps it didn't matter.
Louis Walsh certainly wasn't worrying about Britney's vocals.
He was wide eyed as the 27-year-old bounded across the stage to a position next to the judge's table.
As she bounced up and down Louis broke into a large smile, perhaps appreciating the novelty of his front-row view of Britney's scantily clad derrieré.
After her performance a grinning Britney told presenter Dermot that appearing on the X Factor was 'awesome' and 'amazing'.
'I love being here in London,' she gushed.
Unlike guest stars Take That and Mariah Carey, Britney did not mentor the contestants ahead of last night's show.
And when pushed as to whether she had any advice for them she told Dermot: 'Good luck and just keep doing it!'
